OUR POLICIES:
Required Attire
We strive to maintain a professional atmosphere for our students; therefore our dress code will be enforced at all levels in all classes.
Ballet
For girls: pink tights, leotard (see table below) and pink ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled away from the face and neck into a high or low bun for each class. Short hair should be pinned back away from the face. No swinging ponytails. No jewelry. No leg warmers, baggy T - shirts, etc.

For boys: Any color T-shirt, black (comfortable) pants and black dance shoes.
Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop (all levels):
For girls: Leotards and tights of any color, proper black dance shoes. No jewelry.
For boys: Any color T-shirt, black (comfortable) pants and proper black dance shoes.
For all ballet classes:
- No sweatshirts or baggy T - shirts are allowed, for they obstruct the view of the body for proper placement.
- Long hair must be worn in a bun or secured away from the head and neck.
- No jewelry or warm-up attire is to be worn in class.
Attendance Policy
Punctual and regular attendance is expected of all registered students. It is strongly recommended that students arrive early for class in order to dress and warm-up properly. Students must maintain regular class attendance in order to progress effectively and to qualify for participation in performance activities at the school.
Class Cancellation
If there is a question regarding cancellation due to inclement weather, please call the school at 232-2990 or visit our web-site for up-to-date information. Canceled classes will be made up during the school year or at the end of the season.
The School reserves the right to cancel a class because of insufficient enrollment at any time during the course of the academic year. Minimum enrollment required for an official class is six students
Rules of conduct
- Students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner respectful to fellow students and their instructors.
- Students should not enter a school until the previous class has left.
- Street shoes are not permitted in the school.
- If you are late, wait at the door for the teacher to acknowledge you. You may be asked to observe the class at the teacher's discretion.
- It is expected that all students maintain the school dress code
- No talking is permitted in class without permission.
- Students are not permitted to leave class to drink. Plastic water bottles are allowed.
- Use the restroom before class. Students may only leave class in the case of an emergency at the discretion of the teacher.
- If you are observing, sit politely at the front of the class and do not distract the other students.
- Upon entering our school, or during the course of the year all students must inform the faculty if they are taking dance classes elsewhere or plan to do so. We reserve the right to restrict students from participating in classes at other schools if such activity has the potential to conflict with our schedule or method of teaching.
Students not complying with rules of conduct risk suspension.
Observation of Classes
Guests are not permitted in the classroom while a class is in session. However, parents and guests may observe classes during the time specified on the yearly calendar.
Please, refrain from bringing small children and to remain for the full class period.
Bulletin Board
Students and parents should check this board often to verify holidays, rehearsal and performance information. Emergency and special-event information will also be posted there.
Liability
Our school assumes NO liability for personal injury and is not responsible for any belongings left at the school.
The Value of Open Dialogue
If parents or students have any concerns, we are most interested in learning about them. Please make a point to bring them up with us. Your needs are important to us. Also, if you have any suggestions, we would like to hear about them. An objective perspective, from the outside looking in, is often valuable and we would like to hear what you are thinking about.
